Song of the Week

Sometimes. I effing hate itunes. I have been trying to upload a song for about 20 minutes. So now, you get a link because it's not working.

I had this whole explanation about why I love this band and song. But forget it. Maybe I'll re-write it later. But rest assured. This song is fantastic as is the band.

When the rain comes...

I want new rain boots. If I didn’t just buy a whole bunch o’ text books and a desk and a new “school” bag, you better believe these suckers would be mine. I love that they’re short..i would tuck my jeans into them kinda slouchy-like. And i love the color.

Ohmygod...jordan catalano

"If you analyze why a certain person ends up with another person, you'll kill yourself."

Brian Krakow via My So-Called Life, which I just finished marathon-ing. SO much teen angst, yet every now and then there was a line or convo that struck a chord with me. Good to know I have the emotional maturity of a 16 year old.

There was also a lot of flannel and the soundtrack featured tunes by the violent femmes, the cranberries and nirvana. I miss the 90s. Man..they were great. If you see me walking around in doc martens and a lumberjack shirt the next few days..just go with it. Maybe I could dig up my YAGA shirt from somewhere...

Proust Questionnaire

So Vanity Fair is one of my favorite magazines. Both my mom and grandmother have subscriptions, so I rarely buy it since one or the other holds a big stack of them for me until I get home. But one of my favorite sections is the Proust Questionnaire on the last page and when I read it I always think..."what would my answers be if I were asked these questions" Well, what is a blog for, if not that. SO without further ado...my Proust Questionnaire.

Truly, MADly, Deeply

Me via Mad Men. Not exactly sure why I’m wearing a riding outfit in the offices of Sterling Cooper. But I love the equestrian look…so I ran with it. Please note my kickass broach and my cup of coffee. Clearly in this scene, I am striding in to Don Draper’s office where he will be super impressed with my great creative advertising skills and we will make out like teenagers.

Things I am loving...

1. Sharpie's new pens

2. This article from the New York Times. And this.

3. Re-reading The Time Traveler's Wife. For the 4,000th time.

4. This entire 30s/menswear inspired outfit from Anthropologie.

5. Being able to watch True Blood on an actual TV screen as opposed to watching it (illegally..shhh!) online last season.

Bad money management

Latest Unnecessary Etsy buy: vintage bird tin. I've been really into things with birds lately. And I love the bright colors on this.
